Fireworks on Tybee Sunday

Tybee Island, 20 minutes east of Savannah, will host its annual Independence Day fireworks display the Sunday evening with the first explosion expected at about 9:30 p.m. The official start time is thirty minutes after dark.
The fireworks will be set off from the Parker Pier on Tybee Island's south beach area, so they will be visible from any of the beaches on the east side of the island, as well as from many homes and cottages west of the beaches.
On the morning of July 4, visitors are welcome to participate in an annual Beach Sweep clean-up, organized by the Tybee Beautification Association. Volunteers interested in helping should meet at the Tybee Island Pavilion at 6:30 a.m.
