The Pembroke Public Library’s summer library program kicks off May 21.

The “Dream Big — Read!” program is open to students in kindergarten through 12th grade. To participate in the program, students are encouraged to pick up a logbook at the library to record book titles and number of reading hours throughout the summer.
Students who participate are also encouraged to bring in their reading log for one prize each week.

Additionally, all age groups are invited to attend summer performances each Wednesday beginning June 6. Performances will be held at Bryan County Elementary School at 10:30 a.m.

Performances include June 6: Annie Akins, “Dream Big: Once Upon a Time in a Song;” June 13: Annette Laing, “Could you be a World War II kid;” June 20: magician Arthur Atsma; June 27: The center for wildlife education at Georgia Southern University: Wild Critters; July 11, juggler Ron Anglin; and July 18, music, magic, story telling and live animals with Chad Crews.
