Club Stewart brunch for Mother's Day

Make the day special for mom. Take her to Club Stewart for the Mother’s Day Brunch from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday. Enjoy breakfast items or choose from other favorites.

Advance tickets are $3 off for adults and $1 off for children, and are available at club information counters and online via webtrac http://go.usa.gov/TD4B. Prices at the door will be $17.95 for adults and $7.45 for children ages 5-11. Children 4 and under are free.

Bass tournament

Anglers can compete for prizes from 6:30 a.m.-noon Saturday in a catch and release bass tournament at Pineview Lake off Highway 144 on Fort Stewart.

Winners will be determined by the heaviest combined weight of up to five bass.

Competitors can fish from the bank or launch a bass boat using trolling motors only. No live bait will be allowed. Fishing is open to soldiers, family members, retirees and civilians.

Boat rentals are available at Holbrook Recreational Equipment Checkout to Military ID cardholders with boat safety cards. Valid state and Stewart/Hunter fishing permits required.

“Golf 4 Life”

Learn golf fast, at no charge, during the “Golf 4 Life” Clinic Saturday from 9-10 a.m. at Hunter Golf Course.

Beginners can learn the basics, while novice golfers improve their game. Clinics are open to all authorized patrons, with a priority sign-up for active duty. For more information, call 315-9115.

 

Mother’s Day golf

Mothers will receive the greens and golf car fee at half price May 12 when playing with someone who pays for full round and cart at Hunter Golf Course. The offer is good after noon.

Aerification of greens at Hunter Golf Course is scheduled for May 13-14, if weather permits. Play will be curtailed to the front or back nine holes on those days.

Summer work

Register by May 15 at the Mindoro Loop Youth Activity Center for the Summer HIRED! The new term begins May 16 and continues until Aug. 30. There is no charge to register.

The program is open to CYSS-registered teens, 15-18. Mandatory orientation is scheduled for May 16 at 5:30 p.m. For more information, call 767-4491.  

 

GC Golf Scramble

The Garrison Commander’s Golf Scramble will begin at 1 p.m. May 17 at Taylors Creek Golf Course. Play will be limited to the first 25 four-person teams. The cost is $35 per soldier, retiree, Army civilian, and Taylors Creek or Hunter Golf Course member. The price is $45 per civilian guest. For more information, call 767-2370.

 

Hunter skeet shoot

Hunter’s Skeet and Trap Quarterly Shoot will be from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. May 18at the skeet range off South Perimeter Road.

Registration for the 50-bird skeet and 50-bird trap shoot will be accepted until May 16 at the range or at Outdoor Recreation. The cost is $25 for one event or $40 for both. Food will be provided.

First- and second-place prizes will be given in novice, intermediate, expert and trap divisions. The event is sponsored by Mossy Oak Gun Club.

Splash park opening

The Splash Park at Cypress Creek opens May 19 from 11:30 a.m.-7 p.m. (weather permitting) with a combo deal on Splash Park/Adventure Golf. The daily combo costs $5.

Memorial Day golf

Hunter Golf Course is offering specials for Memorial Day on May 27. Bring a foursome and receive $5 off per player for 18 holes and golf car. Tee times required from 7:30-9:30 a.m.
