Turkey egg hunt

Not all the turkeys are gobbled up on Thanksgiving and those that escape will leave eggs at Adventure Golf for a hunt on Nov. 26.

Skate Winter Wonderland

Move to the sounds of Christmas while skating at Corkan Family Fun Center from 6-9 p.m. Dec. 1. Dress the part, put on wheels and show what you’ve got.

Christmas Ham Bowl

Bowlers at Hunter Lanes can win a ham anytime lanes are available Dec. 1-18. Bowl for $3 per person, per game.

Men, bowl across five lanes and knock down nine pins or more to win. Or get a strike in the 3, 6 and 9 frames. Women, bowl across five lanes and knock down eight pins or more or get a strike in the 3, 6 and 9 frames.

Tree lightings

Christmas trees outside Club Stewart and Hunter Club, decorated with holiday lights, will come to life during lighting ceremonies Dec. 6 and Dec. 11. 

Santa Claus will join the festivities, then take photos with kids. Parents are reminded to bring their cameras.

The tree lighting outside Club Stewart will begin at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 6. The ceremony on Hunter will start at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 11.

Members of the Third Infantry Division Band will play and local school choirs will perform. Audience members will be invited to join in singing carols.

Trees for Troops

The Christmas Spirit Foundation, FedEx and local growers again are joining FMWR to make the holidays merrier for soldiers and their families by giving them Christmas trees.

Last year, about 900 trees were distributed free on a first-come basis at Fort Stewart and Hunter. This year, the trees will be distributed at 9 a.m. Dec. 8 at Newman Fitness Center on Stewart and Hunter Club.

Since 2005, more than 103,000 trees have been given to troops and military families by Trees for Troops.

Brunch with Santa

Old St. Nick himself will be the guest during a Brunch with Santa at the Club Stewart Ballroom and Thunder Run from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 16.

Retirees and civilians are invited to join soldiers and families.

Stations will serve full omelets and bourbon-glazed ham. The buffet will feature Southern breakfast items, beef Wellington, English cut cod with Dijon breadcrumbs, and chef’s selections of side dishes. Dessert and coffee bars will have warm bread pudding with rum butter on the side, assorted desserts, coffee and teas.

Advance ticket cost $14.95 for adults and $6.45 for children. Tickets at the door cost $17.95 for adults and $7.45 for children. Children 4 and under are free.

International Children’s Day

Golf 4 Life

Golf 4 Life clinics at Hunter Golf Club are scheduled from 9-10 a.m. on Dec. 15, Jan. 12 and Feb. 9.

The free clinics are to fine tune your golf game or for beginners to learn the game of a lifetime. They cover all areas of golf and are open to the public. Participants are encouraged to bring a friend.
