Crossfit enthusiasts can compete against each other in the CrossFit Fort Stewart Warrior Challenge Saturday at Caro Fitness Center on Fort Stewart.

The CrossFit Fort Stewart Warrior Challenge will be from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at Caro Fitness Center.  

Contestants in eight age and gender divisions must complete three varied workouts.

Pumpkin carving class

Learn the tricks of carving a pumpkin, while having fun with the family. A pumpkin carving class will be 5- 8 p.m. Oct. 29 in north-side pavilion No. 4 at Holbrook Pond Recreation Area. Don't forget to bring pumpkins. For more information, call 435-8213.

 

Extreme dodgeball

Youth, ages 11-17, interested in extreme dodgeball are invited to meet at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Youth Activities Center to discuss forming a league. Rules, regulations, team play and schedules will be discussed. For more information, call 767-4491.

 

Toddler Halloween

Celebrate Halloween with a costume party at Corkan Family Fun Center from 10-11:30 a.m. Oct. 30. Dress up your little ones in their favorite costume. Parents, treats for your children to share with their friends. Corkan provides drinks for all little trick-or-treaters. Party is free, though there is a $2 per child charge for the Bounce House. Dressin’ & Groovin’

Bowling turkey shoot

Bowl two consecutive strikes at Marne Bowling Center from Nov. 2-25 and you will win a frozen turkey. The cost is $1 per person. Strikes must be witnessed by a member of the staff. Participants cannot win more than two turkeys. For more information, call 767-4866.

 

Bourbon dinner

Make your reservations now for an evening that’ll please your palate, the second annual Coastal Empire Bourbon Dinner Nov. 12. The six-course meal will feature bourbon-inspired foods and a master distiller from the Six & Twenty Distillery.

The evening at Club Stewart begins with a social hour at 6, followed by the bill of fare. The cost is $75 per person and the event is limited to 60 guests. Register by Nov. 10 by calling or visiting Club Stewart.

 

Turkey shoot

Test your shooting skills and you might take home a turkey from the Long Range Turkey Shoot Nov. 14.

The shoot will be concurrent with the Long Range Shooting from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Red Cloud Echo Range. Cost for the Long Range Shoot is $15. Cost for the Turkey Shoot is $3 per try.

This rifles-only event is open to all registered Stewart/Hunter weapon owners. All calibers permitted. Turkey Shoot contestants, in groups of five, will shoot at paper targets from 300 yards. The one closest to the center wins each round until all the turkeys are gone.

Disney on Ice

Tickets and transportation for the 11 a.m. Nov. 14 Disney on Ice Let’s Celebrate show at Savannah Civic Center are available at Stewart/Hunter Leisure Travel offices. The price is $25 for adults and $20 for children. Ages 2 and above must have tickets for admission. Tickets only cost $17 per person. The final day to sign up is Nov. 2. Managed hunts

Soldiers and retirees can register for Outdoor Recreation’s two remaining managed deer/hog hunts on Fort Stewart. Sign up at the Stewart or Hunter Pass and Permit offices.

The first hunt, Saturday in Red Cloud Complex, is closed. The second hunt will be Nov. 7 in the Delta Area and the registration deadline is Oct. 26. The third hunt will be in the Bravo Area Dec. 19, with a selection drawing on Dec. 8.

For each hunt, there will be 45 slots for soldiers and five for retirees. You can put your name in for all hunts, but go on only one. A $25 fee per hunter is payable upon selection.

Gridiron Challenge

Fill out an entry with your NFL picks and turn it in by noon on Fridays, and you could leave the Gridiron Challenge that evening with a $100 gift card. Game sheets available at all Stewart fitness centers, Marne and Stewart bowling centers and Club Stewart.

You must be present at the Gridiron Challenge at 6 p.m. Fridays in Thunder Run to win and to have a chance to win the grand prize of $400 after week 17. There’s no admission charge. You must be at least 18 to play and 21 to drink. For more information, call 767-4717.
