Dueling Pianos

Two premier Army Entertainment pianists will perform Saturday at 8 p.m. in Club Stewart's Thunder Run.

Dueling Pianos is a high energy, all-request, sing and clap-along and comedy show where the audience is part of the entertainment.

The show is open to patrons 18 and older. There is a $5 cover charge. Call 368-2212.

 

Long range shooting

Soldiers, retirees, Army civilians and guests can sight-in large caliber weapons Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at Red Cloud Range Complex-Echo.

Bring your rifles or muzzle loaders of any caliber. Targets will be at 100 to 1,000 meters.

Nike Demo day

Try out the latest golf equipment during demo day with Nike 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Hunter Golf Course.

Murder mystery dinner theater

Club Stewart will host a murder mystery dinner theater on April 12, offering would-be actors a place in the spotlight in "Murder Two Point Uh-Oh!"

Those who don’t want to act are invited to enjoy the meal and solve the murder. 

Dinner theater costs $25 per person in advance with tickets available at the club, or $30 at the door. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., dinner is served at 7 and the show begins at 7:15 p.m.

Matrimony and mayhem surround what is billed as a “happy-to-hysterical, high-wire, interactive comedy mystery dinner theater.”

Call 368-2212 to sign up for the cost. Rehearsals will be April 8-11. The cast calls for 14-20 people. Age and gender are not specific, although those over age 18 are preferred. Youth roles are available, provided at least one parent also is in the cast.

 

Garrison Commander's Golf Scrambles

Register by April 10 for the Hunter Garrison Commander's Golf Scramble April 12 at Hunter Golf Course.

Lt. Col. Edward A. Kovaleski invites you to play. The $40 per person entry fee includes greens, cart fees, range balls and light lunch.

Post-wide garage sale

The Post-Wide Garage Sale, at housing units only, will be from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. April 13. A map of sale locations is being posted online at stewartmwr.com or huntermwr.com.

Bass tournament

A catch-and-release Bass Tournament will be from 6:30-noon April 13at Metz Pond on Fort Stewart. Anglers are invited to compete for prizes based on the combined weight of up to five bass.

Fishing is allowed from the bank or boats, but no trolling motors and no live bait will be permitted. Tournament is open to soldiers, family members, retirees and civilians.

Boat rentals are available at Holbrook Recreational Equipment Checkout to Military ID cardholders with boat safety card. Anglers must have state and Fort Stewart/Hunter fishing permits.

Weightlifting competition

“The Rock” Power Lifting and Bench Press Competition will be on April 13 at Newman Fitness Center. Weigh-in begins at 8:30 a.m. and the competition at 10:15.

Contestants will be placed into one of 11 weight classes. Awards will be presented using Schwartz-Malone Power Lifting formula.

Wheels Day, giving Fort Stewart youth a chance to explore and learn about safety vehicles and vehicles their moms and dads drive and maintain, will be from 9 a.m.-noon April 19 at the Child Development Center.

The event, popular with children and parents alike, is for the Month of the Military Child. There is no charge.
