Stage Stores Inc., the parent company of Goody’s, is raising funds for Toys for Tots through its “Bears that Care” plush-bears sale.
The plush brown and tan bears, adorned with a satin ribbon, retail for $6.98. Until Dec. 24, Stage Stores Inc. will donate $1 from the sale of each bear to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. Bears are available for purchase in stores and online.
Also through Dec. 24, Goody’s will make a donation of $1 for every person who becomes a fan of its Facebook page.
Stage Stores will donate at least $100,000 from the holiday-bear sales and up to $10,000 from the Facebook contest.
The U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program collects new, unwrapped toys and distributes them as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community.
“Christmas is a time of joy and excitement, but many children don’t have the luxury of waking up to lots of gifts under the tree,” said Michael Glazer, president and CEO of Stage Stores Inc. “We believe partnership with Toys for Tots will provide a way for our customers to make Christmas a little bit brighter for less-fortunate children.”
