Although no record-breakers were caught out of the pond, a record-breaking crowd attended the annual Senior Citizens Fishing Rodeo May 20 at the Colen Floyd pond house. Seniors from both North and South Bryan County braved the heat to enjoy a day of fishing, singing, eating and socializing.
The Floyds said they would like to thank all of the helpers from the Pembroke and Richmond Hill senior centers and the Pembroke Christian Church.
“Also, we want to thank Tim Page for donating fresh strawberries, Fred Covington for taking photos and countless others that contributed their desserts, fishing poles and time,” the Floyds said. “We also want to wish the seniors a happy and safe summer.”
