SAVANNAH — Senior Citizens Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people age successfully, will continue its annual blanket drive through Feb. 29.

Thanks to the Savannah-area community, SCI has donated 319 blankets to seniors so far this year to help them stay warm. Blankets will continue to be collected via donations at SCI’s headquarters, WSAV-TV, and at drop locations throughout The Landings in Savannah. Cash donations to help purchase blankets are also being collected at SCI’s headquarters, 3025 Bull St., Savannah.

Seniors in need of an extra blanket can pick one up at SCI’s headquarters from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. They should bring photo ID and proof of income, as the blankets are meant for low-income applicants only.

“Georgia Natural Gas is proud to be the presenting sponsor of Senior Citizens, Inc.’s annual blanket drive,” says Maurice Baker, manager of community relations at Georgia Natural Gas. “We have a strong commitment to the seniors of Georgia and their families and caregivers. As we start off a new year, we look forward to continuing our long-standing support of organizations like Senior Citizens Inc. with corporate support and the hands-on support of our TrueBlue Crew employee volunteers. We hope that our neighbors and friends in Savannah will join us in supporting a worthwhile organization like Senior Citizens Inc.”
