The Rotary Club of Richmond Hill recently presented its monthly Junior Rotarian award to Wildcats football standout Canon Rooker.

“Canon Rooker is a highly talented student who excels at football and soccer — in fact he is ranked the 23rd kicker in the whole nation,” Richmond Hill High School principal Helen Herndon said. “Canon not only achieves all this on the field but is on the honor roll and maintains a 3.6 GPA.”

Rooker thanked the Rotary Club and his principal before thanking his father.

“I would not be here today without all the support I have had from my dad,” he said.

“The Rotary Club of Richmond Hill has seen an incredible range of talent in the various young people we have presented the Junior Rotarian of the Month award to over the past year,” club President Bill Eberlein said. “The future of our nation depends on young people striving to be the very best they can be at school, in our community, with their families and throughout their lives.”
