Ogeechee Riverkeeper, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, has scheduled its annual meeting for 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at Love’s Seafood Restaurant, 6817 Chief O.F. Love Road in Savannah.

The cost is $15 per person, which includes heavy appetizers, music and non-alcoholic beverages. Children younger than 10 are admitted for free.

After attendees have been brought up to speed on the progress and development of the river and the organization, ORK will recognize its Volunteer of the Year, Monitor of the Year, Business of the Year and Education Partner of the Year. As the finale, one supporter will be honored with this year’s Legacy Award.

“We’re really looking forward to our upcoming meeting at Love’s. It’s important that Ogeechee Riverkeeper preserves the strength of our ties to community supporters and advocates. We want to keep them in the loop at all times, and this gathering will be especially festive since ORK is celebrating its 10-year anniversary right now,” Riverkeeper Emily Markesteyn said.

Waits & Co. will provide live musical entertainment for the event, and a cash bar will be available. Proceeds benefit the Ogeechee Riverkeeper, whose mission includes river-preservation work, advocacy efforts and outreach.
