Richmond Hill will celebrate Georgia Cities Week with a variety of events April 17-23.

The theme is "Go To Town," emphasizing having a gathering place for people and communities.

This is the 17th year Georgia Cities Week has been celebrated in the state and the 16th for Richmond Hill.

"We’re very proud of our city and the services we provide that make it attractive to residents and visitors," Mayor Harold Fowler said.

Events planned are: a business breakfast, employee luncheon, Kids Fishing Derby, large trash pickup, City Center Thursday Lunch, Art and Mayor’s Essay Contest and Fire Department open house.

Cities across Georgia will celebrate the week, coordinated by the Georgia Municipal Association, to showcase and celebrate cities and the services they provide. Based in Atlanta, GMA is a voluntary, nonprofit organization that provides services to its 521 member cities.
