ATLANTA — The Governing Board of Common Cause Georgia unanimously elected Richmond Hill native Clint Murphy to the board during its September meeting.
Murphy, a Savannah real estate agent and former Republican political operative, most recently worked as political director for Karen Handel’s 2010 run for governor and deputy regional campaign manager for the Southeast for John McCain’s 2008 run for president.
Murphy, a graduate of Georgia Southern University, was the charter president of the Metropolitan Savannah Rotary Club that formed in 2012.
“I’m very excited to have the opportunity to serve on the Board of Common Cause Georgia and work with my fellow Georgians, who also have such a passionate appreciation for ethics, honesty and integrity,” Murphy said. “I’m eager to help make progress on Common Cause Georgia’s goals to see a nonpartisan committee assume the responsibilities of redistricting, work to expand easier ballot access for independents, and help ensure local governments are held accountable for ethics enforcement.”
Common Cause Georgia is a nonprofit, nonpartisan citizens’ lobby organization.
