Team registrations are being accepted for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Bryan County set for May 10-11 at J.F. Gregory Park.
Teams can be registered by going to RelayForLife.org/bryanga or by calling 912-355-1378.
The Relay for Life will be from 7 p.m. May 10 until 7 a.m. May 11.  This year’s theme is “Relaying Through the Years” in honor of the American Cancer Society’s 100th birthday. The relay will kick off with a survivor victory lap followed by a caregiver lap.  All cancer survivors in the community are invited to attend.
Relay for Life events are held overnight as individuals and teams camp out at an athletic track, park or other gathering area, with the goal of keeping at least one team member on the track or pathway at all times throughout the evening. Teams do fundraising prior to the event, and some teams hold fundraisers at their camp sites during the relay.
“Relay for Life draws attention to the progress being made in the fight against cancer,” said Sara Jane Fogarty, ACS community manager. “Involvement in Relay helps brings hope that, together, we can eliminate cancer as a major health problem.”
