The Black Hawk Patrol of Pembroke's Boy Scout Troop 141 headed to summer camp for a week on June 15.

They attended Camp Frank G. Lumpkin in Lagrange. There they met 18 other troops from Georgia, Florida and Alabama.

The scouts enjoyed many activities, including boating, fishing, shooting and numerous competitions. In the end, the Pembroke boys came home with all but one award. They included three scout master awards, four out of five campsite inspection awards, best gateway award and the honor troop award, which is the hardest to achieve.

The patrol with four adults and seven boys from Pembroke beat other units with as many as 30 scouts, in addition to their leaders.

Pembroke Christian Church and American Legion Post 164 for sponsor the troop.
