Boy Scout Troop 141 from Pembroke and Troop 295 from Guyton participated in a two-county cleanup April 26.
The two groups cleaned up areas in Bryan and Effingham counties. In total, they cleaned up more than 20,000 pounds of trash, more than 700 tires, and other miscellaneous items.
The Great American Cleanup is held annually, and local Boy Scout groups help clean up their communities by clearing areas where individuals have illegally dumped trash.
