Oct. 21: “Picasso for a Night” Adult Painting Class - Local artist Carol Hartley hosts this special event designed for artists at any experience level, including beginners. Work step-by-step to create a finished painting of “Sunflowers” in one evening. Cost is $45 per person and includes all supplies. Pre-registration is required. Ladies Night -
Gub-Gub’s Ice Cream & Coffee Club and Off the Tracks Gallery in Station Xchange host this event to raise breast cancer awareness from 6-8 p.m. Come dressed in pink to show your support, mingle with other women, play games, enter to win prizes, enjoy food and have some fun. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to breast cancer research efforts. Please call 756-7556 to RSVP.

Oct. 23:
Halloween Ballroom Dance Party
- Boogie on down to Life Moves Dance Studio in or out of costume for food, music and dancing in honor of Halloween. Public Safety Day -
The Bryan County Fire Department, in conjunction with the Bryan County Firefighters Association, will hold this annual event from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. in the Publix parking lot (Hwy. 144, Richmond Hill). Learn how to use a fire extinguisher, have your child's safety seat checked, see “Carolyn” the pink fire truck, give blood, and participate in the silent auction. Children can enjoy inflatables, face painting and more.

Candle Lantern Tour - Come to Ft. McAllister to experience a tour by candlelight beginning at 7 p.m. See Civil War era soldiers go about their nightly routine, but be sure to stay with your guide lest you be captured by spies! Cost is $5 for adults and $3.50 for children. The park requests that participants not bring flashlights. For more information, call 727-2339.
