Jan. 12: Reading to Nero – Children can read to trained therapy dogs at 4 p.m. at the Richmond Hill Public Library. The dogs provide children with a non-judgmental reading environment that helps them improve both confidence and reading skills.
Historical Society lecture – Local historian Buddy Sullivan will kick off the 2012 Richmond Hill Historical Society’s lecture series at 7 p.m. at the Richmond Hill Museum. The lecture is entitled “Spanish Settlements in Coastal Georgia from 1526 to 1742” and is free and open to the public.
Jan. 12-14:
Savannah Hockey Classic – Watch six collegiate hockey teams go head-to-head in the 13th annual Savannah Hockey Classic at the Savannah Civic Center. The first game starts at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, and events will last through Saturday. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children.
Jan. 17:
Family Campfire Night – Oatland Island Wildlife Center will host Family Campfire Night from 6-9 p.m. in Savannah. Guests will enjoy fireside treats, storytelling, stargazing and a nighttime hike through the grounds. The cost is $15 for adults and $10 for children. Registration is required.
