Jan. 23-24: Doo Wop and Rock Festival — Doo Wop and Rock is a two-day celebration of the good, old-time rock ‘n’ roll. The show features eight legendary rock ‘n’ roll artists from the 1950s and ’60s, with four artists each night. The event will take place at the Lucas Theatre for the Arts in downtown Savannah. Movie Night Under the Stars — The Ice Cream Stop in Richmond Hill invites the community to free family fun nights of movie watching under the stars. Friday evening’s showing will be a PG-rated movie, and Saturday night’s movie will be rated G. The movies will begin at dusk. Guests are asked to bring lawn chairs. Tybee Island Restaurant Week — Tybee Island Restaurant Week will feature 10 days of island fare at various restaurants. Food lovers can choose from multi-course menu options at a fixed cost of $25 per person at each location. Participating restaurants include Coco’s Sunset Grille, North Beach Bar and Grill, Sting Ray’s, Lighthouse Pizza North, A-J’s Dockside, Rock House, Sundae Café, 80 East Gastropub, Tybee Island Social Club, Spanky’s and Bernie’s Oyster House. Aerobic-Thon and Wellness Fair — Sample various aerobic-style classes taught by certified instructors with different fitness backgrounds at the Wellness Fair at Hunter Army Air Field. The event will take place in the Tominac Fitness Center from 9 a.m.-noon. Kick-boxing, step, Zumba, line-dancing, pilates and more will be available. Book Buddy Story Time — Fort Stewart is offering a story time for children ages 3-5 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the George P. Hays Library. The children are invited to read stories, sing songs and engage in learning activities. For more information, call 767-2828.
