Dec. 12: Oyster Roast — The Richmond Hill Historical Society will host its annual fundraising gala benefiting the Richmond Hill History Museum from 6-9 p.m. at the Oyster House at The Ford Plantation. This year’s gala, an oyster roast, will feature a new documentary, The Hidden History of Richmond Hill. Actors portraying historical figures will be joining guests for a chat and photo opportunities. RHHS Holiday Chorus Concert — At 7 p.m., the community is invited to the Richmond Hill High School Holiday Chorus Concert located in the west gym of the high school. The event is free and open to the public.

Movie Night Under the Stars — The Ice Cream Stop in Richmond Hill invites the community to a free family fun night of movie watching under the stars. Friday evening’s showing will be a PG-rated movie, and Saturday night’s movie will be rated G. The movies will begin at dusk. Guests are asked to bring lawn chairs. “Light-Up the Hill” Holiday Decorating Contest — To entice people to shop, dine and play locally, the Chamber of Commerce is having a store-front decorating contest for all businesses. A voting contest will take place on the Holly Days on the Hill Facebook page.  First place will receive two sponsor tent passes and one parking pass for Friday and Saturday of the 2015 Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival. Second place will receive $100 cash or a donation to a charity. Third place will receive a case of wine. For more information, call the chamber at 756-3444.

Dec. 13
Holiday Market — The RHBC Chamber of Commerce invites the community to the fourth annual Holiday Market from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., at J.F. Gregory Park. Local businesses and organizations will have booths set up for holiday shopping.

Breakfast with Santa — The Richmond Hill Senior Center is hosting a breakfast with Santa Claus from 9-11 a.m. Children can sit on Santa’s lap and get their photo with him. There will be a craft corner available for children to make a special gift for someone or write a letter to Santa. Admission is one new, unwrapped toy per child. The toys will be donated to Bryan County Family Connections.

Fort McAllister Winter Muster — From 9 a.m.-4 p.m., visit Fort McAllister State Park for the 150th Anniversary of the Siege of Fort McAllister and the Winter Muster event. A battle reenactment will take place at 5 p.m.

RHMS Band’s Winter Concert — At 5 p.m., the public is invited to the free winter concert by the Richmond Hill Middle School Band. The event will take place at the school’s gymnasium. Performances will be by the sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade bands and Wildcat Winds.
