Sept. 25: Wartime Veterans Workshop – Wartime veterans or surviving spouses of wartime veterans are invited to this workshop to learn about certain earned VA benefits. The workshop, located at Suites at Station Exchange, will begin at 2 p.m. Guests can learn about Long Term Care Benefits to pay for Home Care, Assisted Living or Nursing Home Care. Fall Carnival at Hunter – The community is invited to the carnival at Hunter Army Airfield. The carnival will be located in the parking lot and field behind the Tominac Fitness Center and will include 19 carnival rides, four food concessions and six games of skill. Fees for rides range individually, or arm bands for unlimited rides are $25 per night. For more information, call 315-5078.

Sept. 26-27
Movie Night Under the Stars – The Ice Cream Stop in Richmond Hill invites the community to a free family fun night of movie watching under the stars. Friday evening’s showing will be a PG-rated movie, and Saturday night’s movie will be rated G. The movies will begin at dusk. Guests are asked to bring a lawn chair. Sept. 27
Kids Fishing Event – From 7-10 a.m., kids ages 15 and under of military ID cardholders are invited to take part in this fishing event. Permit and state fishing license fees are waived and there is no charge to participate. There is a limit of five catfish per child. Prizes and refreshments will be provided. Bait and poles to borrow will be handed out on a first come, first served basis. This event takes place at Halstrom Lake at Hunter Army Airfield. For more information, call 315-9554.

Your State Parks Day – From 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Fort McAllister State Historic Park is asking volunteers to help maintain and preserve local state parks. For those helping, admission to the park will be free that day and lunch will be provided. For more information, call 727-2339.

Sept. 30
Richmond Hill Farmer’s Market — Stop by the farmer’s market between 3-7 p.m., at the pavilion at the J.F. Gregory Park. A variety of produce and local crafts will be available for purchase.
