May 31: Pigs in the Park BBQ and Music Festival  — The community is invited to the second annual Pigs in the Park BBQ and Music Festival at the Georgia Veterans State Park in Cordele. The event benefits the Donnie Haralson Scholarship Fund and is an all-day event with arts and crafts vendors, multiple music stages, food and fun. The event starts at 9 a.m., and parking is $5. Disaster Preparation Tour — The Allstate Foundation and Points of Light are bringing their 14-city disaster preparation tour to Savannah. Allstate agency owners will work to help hundreds of Savannah residents build a free disaster kit, which they can use to keep safe in the event of a disaster or emergency. The free kit includes a flashlight, first aid kit, cleaning supplies and other items. The event begins at 6 p.m., and will take place at the Savannah Sand Gnats baseball game at Historic Grayson Stadium in Savannah. The evening includes a baseball game, fireworks and Girl Scouts night at Grayson Stadium.

Public Library Summer Performance — The community is invited to Richmond Hill United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. for the Richmond Hill Public Library’s first summer performance of the year. The performance will feature Ron Anglin, juggler, with his performance “The Sound of FIG Newton.” The performance encourages children to read and has a science theme. Children of all ages are welcome to attend this free event.
