Feb. 5: 13th annual New Beginning Youth Art Exhibit — As part of the Black Heritage Festival, the city of Savannah Department of Cultural Affairs hosts this annual Links-sponsored exhibit. Local middle and high school students have entered works based on the 2014 theme, “Dare to Dream; Create a Legacy.” The opening reception will start at 6:30 p.m., where prizes will be announced. The exhibit will be open until Feb. 28, at West Henry Street in Savannah. For more information, call 651-6783.

Feb. 7
Super Scientific Circus — This circus proves that science is fun through amazing circus skills using boomerangs, bubbles, beach balls, bullwhips and magic. Children can learn about friction, inertia, centrifugal force, aerodynamics, sonic booms, air pressure and ultraviolet light. Cost is $6 per child. The show starts at 9:45 a.m. at the Savannah Arts Academy. For more information, call 800-923-2293.

Feb. 8:
Rotary Club of Richmond Hill annual fundraiser — This year’s event at the Richmond Hill City Center begins at 6:30 p.m. and will have a beach theme complete with seaside playground and boardwalk and a performance by The Swingin’ Medallions. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served, and a silent auction full of items and services from local businesses will be held. A cash bar will also be available.
