Yellow fever comes to Savannah — Savannah’s historic Davenport House presents “Dreadful Pestilence: Savannah’s yellow fever epidemic of 1820,” a one-hour program allowing guests to experience firsthand the deadly illness that nearly decimated the city almost a hundred years ago. Guests will move through the house and the garden by candlelight and witness a doctor’s treatment of a fever victim. Oct. 27Shalom Y’all: Jewish Food Festival — Explore Jewish food and customs from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Savannah’s Forsyth Park. The festival draws more than 10,000 people each year and provides guests with ethnic foods, music dance and even puppet shows. Tickets are only $1 each and can be purchased at one of two ticket booths on the day of the event.
