Aug. 30-Sept. 1: Savannah Riverfront Labor Day Weekend Ultimate Tailgate — Ready for some football? Bring a chair to Rousakis Plaza in downtown Savannah and watch multiple college games in front of three large inflatable screens. The Arbor Stage will feature a 15-foot screen in addition to two 10-foot screens at each end of the plaza. The event is free and there will be tailgate games, food vendors, ice cold beverages and First Saturday arts and crafts vendors.

Aug. 31:
Fort McAllister Labor Day Festival — Take a load off and gather up the family for a Labor Day celebration that kicks off at 9 a.m. with music, entertainment and games for both children and adults. There will also be food and activities, including a grease pole challenge. The fun continues until 4 p.m., and the cost is $6.50 for adults, $6 for seniors and $3.75 for kids aged 6-17. Sept. 1:
Savannah Regional CLC annual Labor Day Picnic — Labor Day is fun for the whole family at J.F Gregory Park. Families are invited to enjoy live music, food, Puppet People entertainment for the kids, a water slide and face painting. There will also be a dessert bakeoff with first-place winners taking home $75. The event begins at noon and the puppet show will follow at 12:30 p.m. The event is free.
