Here are a few of the events coming to our area:

Sept. 30

Future Wildcat Night

Rec football players and cheerleaders have the opportunity to run through the tunnel at Richmond Hill High School on "Future Wildcat Night" before the home football game against South Effingham. Players, cheerleaders and two coaches per team will be allowed into the game for free via the pass gate and are required to wear jersey and/or uniform. Parents and family members must pay gate fee. Advanced tickets are $6 at Plantation Lumber and $8 at the gate. Players and cheerleaders arrive no later than 6:45 p.m. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.

Women’s Bible study

New Beginnings Community Church is offering a women’s Bible class, Engaging God’s Word, a six-week study of Ruth and Esther, from 10-11:30 a.m. Fridays (through Oct. 28). Books are available for $7. Oct. 1

Cars and Coffee

The final Cars & Coffee of the year hosted by the Richmond Hill Historical Society will be 9-11 a.m. at the Richmond Hill History Museum.

Pacing for Polio 5K

Richmond Hill Rotary’s 3rd Annual Pacing for Polio 5K is 6:30 p.m. at J.F. Gregory Park. Packet pickup begins at 4:30 p.m.

Pumpkin Patch

Richmond Hill Garden Club’s 17th annual Pumpkin Patch will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at J.F. Gregory Park and feature games, food and activities.

First Saturday at Fort McAllister

First Saturday Hike of the month on Red Bird Creek Trail. Explore the wetlands and maritime forests with a naturalist. The hike starts at 8 a.m. and is about 3.5 miles. Please wear proper hiking attire. Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. Dogs are welcome but must be on a 6 ft. leash.

Oct. 2

Music in Ellabell

The Ball Brothers will sing at the 11 a.m. service at Olive Branch Church, 95 Heape Dr., Ellabell.

Picnic in the Park 2016

Enjoy fantastic music and fun family activities in beautiful Forsyth Park. This unique, patriotic-themed event, brought to you buy the Savannah Philharmonic and Parker’s, features a stunning repertoire from the Philharmonic Orchestra and more! Come early to hear local band, choral, and orchestral students at the Forsyth Park Bandshell, 621 Drayton St. Free and open to the public. SBCR Line Dancing

South Bryan County Rec hosts adult line dancing, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to noon. This is a free and fun way for adults looking to connect with others, dance and stay fit. For more information visit the SBCR website at http://www.bryancountyga.org/

Richmond Hill Farmer’s Market

The Richmond Hill Farmers Market runs 2-7 p.m. each Tuesday from April to October under the pavilion at J. F. Gregory Park.
