Richmond Hill City Center hosts Lunch Bunch -- Enjoy a meal prepared by head chef Greg Tanner and staff at the City Center in J.F. Gregory Park. Cost is $15 per person, $13 for city employees. First Friday Fireworks, Downtown Savannah -- Celebrate the end of the week and the beginning of a new month with First Friday Fireworks and River Street fun. First Friday Fireworks, are presented by Wet Willie’s, begin at 9:30 p.m. First Fridays and Saturdays on the River take place each month on the Rousakis Riverfront Plaza on River Street in Savannah from March through December. Aug. 10-14
ServSafe Training and Certification, Georgia Southern University -- The ServSafe program blends the latest U.S. Food and Drug Administration food code, food-safety research and years of food-sanitation training experience. Students learn to implement essential food safety practices and create a culture of food safety while earning the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification, accredited by the American National Standards Institute’s Conference for Food Protection. Cost is $75 per person (class and exam), and $25 per person (exam only). Classes held on Aug. 10-12, exam on Aug. 14, from 5-8 p.m., at the College of Health and Human Sciences on the campus of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro.
