Fort McAllister State Park hosts Fishing in Our Coastal Waters — Learn about how to fish in the local rivers and around barrier islands. Gain insight on regulations and required licensing. This is an opportunity for those new to Georgia to learn the rules of the water. The class is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at the park, 3894 Fort McAllister Road. Admission is $4 per person, and parking is $5 per vehicle.

Richmond Hill United Methodist Church hosts “Everest: Conquering Challenges with God’s Mighty Power” — Kids will participate in small groups called Climbing Crews, discovering practical ways to hold on to God’s mighty power. Everest is filled with epic Bible-learning experiences, real stories of real kids who rely on God’s power to face life’s challenges, songs and treats. Let’s Create hosts Altered Journal Class — Transform ordinary into extraordinary. Students will take an everyday notebook and develop a custom, one-of-a kind scrapbook-style journal. Each one will be unique. Classes for children ages 7-9 are scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, June 23, through Friday, June 26. The State of Small Business Conference — Score and Wells Fargo present the State of Small Business conference at the Savannah International and Trade Convention Center. Reports will be issued by 10 area experts who will each have 3 minutes each to present information on measurable benchmarks relating to the region’s small-business community. The event is free.
