The Rev. Glenn Martin joined Richmond Hill United Methodist Church this summer as the congregation’s new Senior Pastor.
Martin, who moved to Richmond Hill with his family from Tifton, Ga., has been preaching the Methodist faith for over 35 years. He is looking forward to serving the Richmond Hill community.
“My first goal is to learn about the church and community,” Martin said. “It’s important to learn before you lead.”
In his free time, the avid outdoorsman believes in staying fit. “I stay healthy by running early in the morning,” explained Martin. “If you see a guy running on the side of a road with a flashlight at 5 a.m., it’s probably me.”
In addition to running, Martin also enjoys hiking, golfing, and working with his hands. He has hiked 950 miles of the Appalachian Trail, and hopes to someday complete the 2,175-mile journey.
Martin lives in Richmond Hill with his wife, Vicki. They have three children, and a granddaughter, Zoe, 17 months old. Their youngest child, Clint, will be attending Richmond Hill High School this fall as a sophomore.
