Historian Buddy Sullivan, who wrote “The Darien Journal of John Girardeau Legare, Rice-grower,” lectured at the Richmond Hill Historical Society Thursday.
Sullivan, who edited the book, presented highlights from his research on late 19th century rice cultivation along the Georgia coast to a packed house of more than 50 people at the lecture.
His talk kicked off the society’s 2011 event schedule, which includes free monthly lectures on a variety of local historical subjects.
