SFLogo-40yr-Natl Established

This week, Sanda Curtis, family and property manager with the Sunshine Foundation answers questions about the charity:

Q: What roles do you play at the Sunshine Foundation?

A: I work directly with each family whose child’s wish is to visit Central Florida; I also manage and work with volunteers at the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village, coordinating work group projects, day to day operations and maintenance.

Q: What is the mission of the Sunshine Foundation?

A: The Sunshine Foundation mission is to answer the dreams of chronically ill, physically challenged and abused children from income-limited families.

Q: How long has this nonprofit been impacting lives?

A: Since 1976, we have spread sunshine into the lives of over 39,000 children. We work with children from across the U.S. and from Puerto Rico.

Q: How did the Sunshine Foundation hear about Madelyn?

A: Rhonda’s niece heard about Sunshine from "Moms Miracles." We received the referral in February of 2013.

Q: What was the process to making this wish come true for her?

A: Families like Madelyn’s submit a request for a dream. From there, an application is then sent to the family to complete, and a medical authorization form for the child’s physician to complete as well.

Q: How can the community learn more about the Sunshine Foundation?

A: Our website is www.sunshinefoundation.org. There you will find information on how to request a dream, volunteer, donate and upcoming events.
