Q: Name & Current job title?
A: Sherri Broome. Job title is a tricky one...we’ll just say I run the marina.
Q: When did you first meet Butch? what attracted you to his character?
A: We first met in 1979, my best friend dated his best friend and roommate. He was fun, had a great personality and was genuine and caring (still is!)
Q: How have you seen him persevere as an entrepreneur over the years?
A: He has always had a "never give up! attitude and was willing to try many things. Not everything worked which made it difficult at times - his father was such a great mentor and role model and I think along with taking care of his family, he always wanted to make his father proud.
Q: How has your role evolved as Fish Tales has grown and now with the official ownership of the Marina?
A: I don’t think my role/duties have changed much. I see great things happening with the marina and feel very excited about the future!
Q: What drives you and Butch to work as hard as you do?
A: It’s just a great feeling to see how far we’ve come. We come from totally different backgrounds and have different ideas - It’s a sense of accomplishment that I don’t see as work, it’s just a huge part of our lives.
Q: How have you seen the business and this community evolve over the years?
A: As the community continues to grow, we have made many changes and additions over the years. Although our space is small and there isn’t a whole lot we can do with the actual structures, we are always thinking of new ways to accommodate growth.
Q: What are your hopes for the future of Fish Tales and Fort McAllister Marina?
A: That we continue to grow and continue to be a place where people bring their families for great fun and memories.
Q: If the community could know one thing about Fish Tales and the Marina, what would you want it to be?
A: We love this community and the people who make it so great!
