Student Dr. Rajkamal Singh of Newport, Tenn., has joined Dr. Thomas Byrnes this month as an extern at Redicare Urgent Medical Care in Richmond Hill.
Singh is a third year student at the Georgia Campus of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine Georgia. He chose to study with Byrnes because he wants to learn to incorporate osteopathic manipulative treatment in an outpatient clinical setting.
OMT is a treatment modality; manipulation applied by a trained physician to treat a specific hands-on diagnosis. Byrnes is board certified in family medicine and one of only three physicians in Georgia who are board certified in neuromusculoskeletal medicine/osteopathic manipulative medicine.
Singh is strongly considering going into family medicine after graduating from medical school. He intends to practice in a small community similar to his hometown in eastern Tennessee.
Redicare has been providing care to the Coastal Empire for more than 10 years.
