ATLANTA — Public health officials in Georgia are seeking public input as they begin planning for upcoming budgets.

The state Department of Public Health and its Board of Public Health are starting to look at their amended fiscal year 2013 and fiscal year 2014 general budgets.

Officials say that they are trying to strengthen community involvement, and plan to hold a public budget hearing at 1 p.m. on Tuesday. The meeting agenda will be available online before the meeting.

The Georgia Department of Public Health leads efforts in the state to prevent disease, injury and disability, to promote health and well-being, and to prepare for disaster response.
