The Bryan County Bark Park’s next BYOD (Bring Your Own Dog) event will be the Yappy Hour Hawaiian fancy-dress dog competition from 6-8  tonight at Fish Tales Restaurant at Fort McCallister Marina.
The event will raise funds to complete the county’s dog park at Henderson Park.
Prizes for the Hawaiian-costume contest will be donated by Paw Parazzi Pet Boutique and Grooming Spa and the Bryan County Bark Park Association.
Fish Tales Restaurant will donate a percentage of all proceeds to the non-profit organization behind the Bryan County Bark Park. Southern Eagle will conduct a beer tasting for attendees. In addition to fresh water, dogs will be able to enjoy special doggie smoothies in tropical-honey and peanut-butter blueberry flavors for $3 for a small cup and $4 for a large.
There also will be giveaways from Fish Tales, Southern Eagle and the Bark Park Association.
“Building is under way, and every cent counts,” Bark Park President Wendy Bolton said. “Please support this fun Hawaiian-themed event with your canine and human family members.”
