STATESBORO — Georgia Southern University’s Division of Continuing Education will host the fourth annual Professional Perspectives on Family and Workplace Violence Conference.
The event is from 8 a.m.-3:15 p.m. May 2 at the Quality Inn & Suites, 230 S. Main St. in Statesboro.
The conference, sponsored by the Statesboro Regional Sexual Assault Center Inc. and the Magnolia Coastlands Area Health Education Center experts, is being held to raise awareness of violence and abuse in families, schools and the workplace and illustrate how violence and abusive behaviors affect people in a family and community.
Organizers also will explain how educators and health-care workers can identify and report victims and showcase services and programs that are available to help victims of violence and abuse.
The conference was created especially for, but not limited to, professionals in the fields of criminal justice and public safety, nursing, counseling, marriage and family therapists, K-12 educators, human resources, workplace-safety coordinators, nursing-home administrators and sexual-assault and domestic-violence centers.
Conference registration is $79; after April 11, it is $85. Exhibitor opportunities also are available.
