The Southeast Regional Gospel Music Conference will be April 13-14 at Full Gospel Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, 809 Veterans Parkway, Hinesville.

The conference is being hosted by the Greater Georgia Choral Chapter of Hinesville with Elder AD Shaw as host pastor. The chapter is expecting more than 200 registered singers, musicians and songwriters.

The Southeast Region is a member of the National Convention of Gospel Choirs and Choruses (the Dr. Thomas A. Dorsey Convention). The mission of the convention is to help Christian singers, musicians and educators improve.

"Our goal is to foster an appreciation of gospel music and to develop the growth of the membership," local chapter President Wilma Gregg said. "The national level provides courses in voice, piano, organ and all other phases of gospel music."

The conference weekend will consist of workshops, musical presentations featuring gospel recording artists and sessions conducted by guest speakers.
