The SD Gunner Fund is partnering with Maintain Beauty Bar for a three-day fundraising initiative Aug. 17-19 at Maintain Beauty Bar, 10471 Ford Ave., Suite B2 in Richmond Hill. Funds raised will be donated to a local family to aid in supporting a service dog for their son.

The SD Gunner Fund provided 2-year-old Zander Ruiz, who has autism and Chiari malformation, with Chase, a golden doodle service dog. Chase will become an invaluable part of Zander’s life as a source of comfort and security. Money raised from this event will help provide the training, care and equipment needed for Chase.

On Aug. 17, Maintain Beauty Bar will host a Girls Night Out spa event. The evening will feature a variety of $25 services, including facials, blowouts, chair massages and other luxurious treatments. All service sales from this evening will be donated to Zander Ruiz and SD Chase.

On Aug. 18, Maintain Beauty Bar will donate 25 percent of all retail sales to the Ruiz family.

On Aug. 19, Maintain Beauty Bar will provide beard blowouts and man for $15 each. Maintain Beauty Bar and the SD Gunner Fund invites local motorcycle groups and community members to join these festivities.

“This will be such a fun day to mingle with our friends, family and neighbors while supporting a great cause,” said SD Gunner Fund president and founder Britnee Kinard. “Our organization is grateful for the support we continuously receive from area businesses, such as Maintain Beauty Bar, and the Richmond Hill community. We can’t wait to see everyone who comes out to help us raise funds for this sweet boy and SD Chase.”

The SD Gunner Fund was created to assist veterans and disabled children with the financial expense of owning service animals. Service animals require a variety of necessary items to undertake their work. These dogs are professionally trained to meet the individual needs of their partners and aid in completing daily tasks.

Maintain Beauty Bar is Richmond Hill’s first and only blowout bar and beauty routine retail store. They offer the opportunity to experience each and every product carried in-store at the Try Me Bar, as well as makeup services and instruction.
