Work as a champion of Christ

"Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world."

— 1 John 4:4

Remind someone that we are champions with Christ. We hear and are exposed to so much negativity in our walk with Christ and we experience what we consider to be defeat, sometimes on a daily basis.

Through all of this negativity we forget that we are the conquerors, that we win, that we achieve, that we (through Christ) are capable of doing the impossible! We are champions.

When God comes into your life and his spirit is living inside us, we are able to do anything we set our minds to do. You can boldly declare that greater is he that is in me, than he that is in the world.

There is nothing too hard for God and like my mother use to say, "If he leads you to it, he’ll take you through it!"

I don’t care where you come from or what church you’re going to, or who you know, this walk with Christ is a personal walk and he didn’t call us to be scary, weak nor ignorant. But he said greater is in us, we are champions.

What is a champion? According to dictionaries, a champion is one who wins first place or first prize in a competition, one that is clearly superior or has the attributes of a winner, an ardent defender or supporter of a cause or another person, one who fights, a warrior. We are groomed to fight and win, so what are we waiting for?

Muhammad Ali said, "I hated every minute of training, but I said, ‘don’t quit, suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.’"

We may have to suffer sometimes, but the champion within us won’t allow us to quit.

I like 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, which reads, "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize."

We are in the fight of our lives and we must run and win every day. Be careful of distractions that are trying to hinder us from our goal. There is work to be done in the kingdom.
