We all have a date with destiny
pastor corner

The other day, I was following a vehicle when I noticed a squirrel coming across the road in front of it.
It must have been the squirrel’s lucky day, because it went under the car and back and forth between the wheels without getting hit. That squirrel, if it keeps up that practice, eventually will have an unlucky day. Even if it escapes accidental death, death one day will come because a squirrel has a life expectancy.
The same thing is with us. There are some who experience untimely deaths through accidents, sickness or disease, or having their lives cut short by violence. Even if a person is fortunate to live a long life, there will be a time when all of us will have to say goodbye to this world. Hebrews 9:27 tells us that “man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.”
So the goal in life should be to serve God as long as we are permitted to live, realizing we are going to die and will have to face our creator. We all have a destiny with physical death, but we can and will have a destiny with eternal life if we choose to follow Christ, which is God’s plan to get to heaven.
