God has blessed Christians with so many things.
The spiritual blessings in Christ help Christians to live for Christ. Peter wrote, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue” (2 Peter 1:3).
The church, the family of God is a blessing Christians have been given as they labor together in the work of the Lord. This is a part of the “abundant life,” knowing there are others who are interested in spiritual matters and who are there to help (Galatians 6:2) when troubles come.
Christians know the father is there when the world seems so dark and full of despair. They have the avenue of prayer to take their burdens and petitions before the throne of God. The greatest blessing God has given was Christ himself, through whom salvation comes.
Knowing all these blessings, faithful Christians — who as Paul understand the gracious blessings in the “abundant life” — realize the urgency of telling others about Christ. They work to carry out the command to take the gospel to the entire world (Matthew 28:18–20).
The offer of salvation given by God to man shows the love God has for his creation. Man was created by God and placed in the Garden of Eden. He had everything needed for him to survive. The only thing that had not been good was man being alone, and God took care of that by making Eve to be a help meet for Adam.
Imagine how displeased God must have been when man gave into the temptations of Satan. When man sinned in the Garden of Eden, it would have been within justice of God for him to have destroyed man, but he did not. Rather, he provided a way whereby man could once again be justified in his sight. “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel” (Genesis 3:15).
God was speaking to Satan, telling him that her seed would bruise his head, take away the power he had over man the power of death. Satan would bruise the heel of the promised one, but that was according to God’s plan, that the virgin-born son of God would shed his blood for the sins of all mankind (Acts 2:23).
This love that God has for mankind continues offering eternal life to all who will obey the gospel of Christ and live faithfully to God.
Instead of destroying man as God could have justly done, he sent his son to be born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14), to live among men showing the attitude and mind set man should have (Philippians 2:5ff), and then going to the cross to give his life blood for the sins of man (Hebrews 10:6-15).
God loves man and desires that man love and obey him. The choice is left up to each individual. What choice have you made?
