Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church welcomes pastor

It has been nearly a year and a half since the beloved Dr. David Long retired as the minister of the Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church.

Since then, the church has been served by Dr. Bill Lindeman, a professional interim pastor. On Saturday, April 12, the congregation will formally welcome its new pastor, the Reverend Greg Gillispie, into the fold. Between the hours of 4-6 p.m., there will be a reception at the church and the public is cordially invited to attend and meet Reverend Gillispie and his family. He will also preach at the 11 a.m. worship service on April 13.

Reverend Gillispie was pastor of the Hickory Grove Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, North Carolina for nine years. He and his wife Marcia are the parents of two young sons, Zach and Ben. A 1995 graduate of the Louisville Presbyterian Seminary, Reverend Gillispie brings a wealth of experience to Richmond Hill Presbyterian at a time when church growth is occurring rapidly.

A former radio deejay, he is known for meaningful preaching and real-world teaching. Especially important are his skills and experience in working alongside youth since that program has grown exponentially over the past two years at the Presbyterian Church.

Reverend Gillispie’s unique talents and leadership ability will enable the Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church to continue its intimate involvement in our community; helping our citizens to address social and generational changes with the timeless Gospel message guiding their way. The Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church is located on Highway 144 just before the PUBLIX shopping center. For information, call 756-2339 or visit the church Web Site at www.RHPChurch.com
