When we think about all the things that are going on in our world today, we have a tendency to worry. We wonder what our world is coming to.

When we read the headlines of newspapers, listen to news on the radio, or watch news on television, we wonder if things are going to get better. I want to encourage you to not worry, but just pray. The Bible says men should always pray and faint not.

We need to understand that worrying will not solve the problems of this world. The Bible teaches us not to worry.

Matthew 6:25-27 (New International Version) says, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"

Worrying will not solve our problems. I am convinced that pray will.

In 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV) we are told, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

We must trust God to solve the problems in this world. That does not mean that God will not use us, but it recognizes that God is in control and he will guide us in the way we should go and what we should do.

As Christians we must always remember to seek the guidance of the Lord. We must also remember that God has a reason for all that he allows to go on in this world. Therefore, there is no need to worry.

When I think about the state of our economy, the problems in our government or even the immorality in our society, I have to depend on God to give us guidance to solve our issues. The earth is the Lord and the fullness thereof; the world and they who dwell there. Therefore, who knows better what to do than the creator himself?

You see, it does not matter who is in the White House or what political party is in control of Congress, as long as God is on the throne. I found out a long time ago that man is limited, but God is omnipotent; that is he is all-powerful. So praying is in order.

I believe that the prayers of the righteous will avail. When God’s people come together and pray, things happen. Praying confirms that we trust God to intervene in our lives. Praying gives evidence that we have faith in God to be the head of our lives. Praying is a testimony to the world that we serve a God who is able to do abundantly above all we ask or think. Praying is the biblical response to all that is wrong in the world. It is the first step to solving all our problems.

I do understand that when you pray, you have to be ready to accept God’s answer and follow his lead. Get ready because he will direct you into what to do. In other words, he will use you or whomever he pleases to get the work done.

Make no mistake about it; man alone cannot solve our problem. Without God we can do nothing. However, with God all things are possible. So we must include God and we do that by praying and asking him for help and guidance.

Do not worry about the things we see going on in our world, for we walk by faith and not by sight. Develop a prayer life. Your prayers with the prayers of other born-again believers will move mountains and set a new course in this world.

Ask the Lord to give you a praying spirit. Remember there is power in prayer. As someone once said, "Much prayer, much power. Little prayer, little power. No prayer, no power." Do not worry just continue to pray.
