There is a sense of anticipation in the air. In just a few months, a new church will be launched.
Minister Jacqueline Nelson Butler, formerly of Hinesville, will serve as founder and pastor of the Kingdom Builders Church Ministries in Jesup. She has been in ministry since 1992 and was licensed under Christ Memorial Baptist Church of Savannah.
She also served as a minister under Ross Outreach Ministries in Midway. While a member of Ross Ministries, she was active in the outreach ministry, prayer band and served as Sunday school secretary.
“We will have our grand opening service on Jan. 8, 2011. The church will focus on preaching, teaching and healing and deliverance. Worship service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sundays, with Sunday school at 10 a.m., and Bible study on Wednesdays at 7 p.m.
“Some of the ministries at Kingdom Builders will include the food bank ministry, clothing ministry, battered women and children ministry, music, ushers, deacons and all the other basic ministries of a church. Our main focus will be going out into the street to reach the lost. That is my heart, passion and love,” Butler said.
Her favorite scripture is Isaiah 61:1, “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.”
Butler credits Apostle Walter Ross and Pastor Clarence “Teddy” Williams as instrumental in her ministry.
“Apostle Ross mentored me. He was the first one to train me for the pastorship. Pastor Williams also mentors me and serves as my prayer covering for the ministry. He has volunteered to help in any way that he can,” Butler said.
On Dec. 6-8, at 7 nightly, Williams, who is pastor of First Tabernacle Baptist Church in Savannah, will conduct a three-night revival at Kingdom Builders.
“There will be preaching, music, Bible study and anointing services,” Butler said.
Butler is married to Dea. Ronald Butler of Camden County. They are the parents of two children (Keith and Chrystal). The Butlers are the owners/operators of a RTK Trucking in Jesup. She is also the niece of Rev. B.T. Smith of St. Paul Baptist in Midway. Smith is known throughout the community as a spiritual father to many ministers.
Butler attended Jacksonville Theological Seminary and has an associate degree in early childhood education. She says she enjoys taking care of the elderly and sick and loves to read and travel with her husband.
