Music is a very important part of church worship services.
In an effort to assist and enhance the music ministry of area churches, Live Oak Church of God in Hinesville is hosting its second annual Shift Music Conference on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 14-15.
“I would like to personally invite you to join us on Oct. 14 and 15, 2011, at Live Oak Church for our annual Shift Music Conference. You will experience relevant and life-changing praise and worship as well as being exposed to gifted and anointed worshippers,” Worship Pastor Kevin Kearney said.
“The purpose of the Shift Music Conference is to offer classes and sessions to enable worship leaders, choir and band members, senior pastors and media personnel to better themselves so they can go back and implement what they have learned.”
Friday night’s lineup features Kearney and Rhonda Kearney with the Live Oak choir and band and special guests. The conference begins at 6 p.m. with exhibits and vendors’ booths. Worship begins at 7 p.m.
Trent and Keisha Cory served as music pastors for almost nine years at their church, Calvary Christian Center in Ormond Beach, Fla. Trent Cory has appeared on Christian television and has performed and recorded music with many well-known musicians, including Donnie McClurkin, Judy Jacobs, Martha Munizzi, Alvin Slaughter and Gary Oliver, the Straight Gate Mass Choir, the University of Toronto Gospel Choir and Lee University Campus Choir.
His wife, Keisha Cory, leads worship and brings healing to churches, women, young girls and conference guests through her music, inspirational speeches and writing.
“No matter what area of ministry you serve, whether you are a senior pastor, worship leader, choir member, band member, media or sound technician, you will not want to miss these two days. It is my desire and intent to make as many resources, tools and information available to you so your ministries can and will reach greater heights and operate in excellence,” Kearney said.
The Saturday morning conference begins at 8 a.m. with a general session titled “The Power of Praise.” Breakout sessions begin at 9 a.m. They run from 9-9:45 a.m., 10-10:45a.m. and 11-11:45 a.m. Trent Cory will lead the final session, titled “The Need for Worship,” at noon. Keisha Cory will present a Women of Worship session at 9 a.m. There also will be a “Leading the Way” session for senior pastors and a “Discovering Your Anointing” session during the breakout groups.
“Friday evening and Saturday morning sessions at 8 a.m. are free to the public,” Kearney said. “We have already registered 203 individuals. People can still register online at liveoakchurch.org. Attendees will also have the opportunity to win an iPad 2.”
Live Oak Church of God’s Senior Pastor Aaron Cowart and the Live Oak Church family invite the public to join them for the Shift Music Conference. For additional information, call Kearney at 876-8769.
