Memorial Day

This weekend, most of us are off from work and are enjoying life and the weekend.
Maybe you are BBQing, traveling or just enjoying family and freedom. But there are some who are celebrating the Memorial Day weekend for other reasons. Maybe it was the loss of a farther, mother, brother, sister or another family member or friend who died for the freedom we have today, the freedom to say how we feel, the freedom to go to school where we want or live where we want, but most of all freedom of religion.
Freedom is not free. Someone has to make the life-giving sacrifice for others to enjoy life.
In John 15:13 we find, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
Today many don’t understand “reasonable service” to God and nation. In today’s time we have the smallest number of recently-served veterans in history and the largest number of people just enjoying the BBQ. On the other hand we who serve in the army of God have the opportunity to celebrate the life, death and resurrection of our Savior.
Today we have the largest number of members serving in the army of the Lord, not for the gifts of God, but only for the “reasonable service.” No greater love Jesus has for us that He laid down His life for us, for our freedom, for us to go from death to everlasting life.
Remember the Memorial Day special as a full price paid for freedom and not just a BBQ sale. Wow, this is hot. BBQ, fire, Hell or “reasonable service?” Your choice.
In his service, May God not only bless you and yours, but bless the United States of America and this world.
