As members of the Liberty Prayer Chapel family of Hinesville prepare for their church’s 11th anniversary, they are reflecting and anticipating a great time of fellowship.
Under the leadership of Pastor K.E. Deason, Liberty Prayer Chapel members have been faithful and have taken an active role in the community. Their theme for 2013 is “God is on the Scene in 2013.”
“God is doing some great things in the ministry and we are grateful,” Deason said.
Celebratory services will run Thursday through Sunday. Here is the schedule of events:
• At 7 p.m. Thursday, Bishop Raymond Napper — the Holy Ghost Cowboy — of the Powerhouse of Deliverance in Hinesville will be the guest speaker.
• At 7 p.m. Friday, Deason’s pastor, Bishop Donald Battle of Divine Faith Ministries International of Jonesboro, will be the speaker.
“Divine Faith has a membership of over 8,000 members and is one church in three locations: Jonesboro, Buford and the Generation Now youth facility, also located in Jonesboro,” Deason said.
• From 4-6 p.m. Saturday, there will be an outdoor picnic and concert, which are free to the public.
• Culminating services will be held at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday. On Sunday morning, Rabbi Roger Herman of Tiberias will be the featured speaker.
“Roger Herman and his wife Patti live in the beautiful city of Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee in Israel. Born in the U.S., he completed Aliyah, a return to the Jewish homeland, about three years ago,” Deason said. “His ministry teaches believers the importance of our Jewish heritage through Christ. He and his wife have worked with Sid Roth Ministries of the Christian TV series, ‘It’s Supernatural,’ for more than seven years,” Deason said.
Apostle Bobbie Adkins of Mt. Zion Outreach Ministries in Glennville will speak at Sunday’s evening service.
Liberty Prayer Chapel’s strategy is to reach out to the unchurched in the five-block radius of the church, Deason said. Working with youth is a huge part of that strategy.
“Most Christians report that their first experience in knowing Christ occurred before age 13, so we are increasing our children’s ministries as well our outreach to children in our neighborhood,” Deason said.
“We have been working with the children in Raintree Apartments for the past seven years. Some of our members and one of our musicians are a direct result of that outreach,” she said.
Deason also has served as director of the Manna House for 12 years. The Manna House, which is on West Memorial Drive in Hinesville, provides food and clothing to those in need.
According to Deason, about 80 percent of her church members serve as volunteers with the Manna House, which is gearing up for the annual Thanksgiving giveaway.
The church is at 302 Memorial Drive in Hinesville.
