When a man collapsed on Tuesday while Tim Tebow was signing autographs, the famed athlete quickly jumped into action.

Tebow immediately began to pray for and comfort the man, laying a hand on him and engaging him in conversation for 15 minutes to help keep him calm and comfortable until paramedics arrived, USA Today reported.

The ex-NFL star who is now playing Mets minor league baseball told the man, who is identified in media reports as Brandon, that medics would take good care of him and offered him well wishes.

Some witnesses said the situation was actually quite dramatic, as Brandon had reportedly stopped moving after collapsing. It wasn't until after Tebow's prayer that he once again came to, leading some to call the incident a miracle.

"Tebow signing autographs. Fan has what looks like seizure. Not moving. Tebow puts hand on him and says a prayer. Man breathes. WOW," KNXV-TV reporter Kari Van Horn tweeted after the incident. "Heading back to the station but I have video of it all. I just witnessed a MIRACLE."

Once the man was alert, he and Tebow shared a comical moment amid the harrowing medical emergency.

According to USA Today, Brandon told Tebow that hes a fan of the University of Georgia. It was a notable admission, considering Tebow once played football for the University of Florida, Georgias key rival.

Youre a Bulldog? Youre kidding me, Tebow quipped. Dont even know how to respond to that.

Once medical help arrived, Tebow departed, telling Brandon, God bless you, buddy.

It was a scene that offered yet another very public lens into Tebows character, as hes become known for helping those in need when he encounters them.

Fans who observed the scene were inspired, with some openly praising Tebow as he passed them by while heading to the clubhouse, NJ.com reported.

"Tebow wouldn't leave him. It happened right in front of him, said one man who watched it all unfold. Tim was just walking and signing and heading out of here and this guy drops in front of him. What are the odds? The guy was on the ground, definitely in seizure at that time."

The irony? Tebow spoke just one day earlier about the importance he sees in helping people in need, proclaiming that its essential to use ones platform to make a difference in peoples lives.

"When you get to help people that are going through tough times, I think that more than anything else is what the goal is more than hitting a home run or getting on base, anything," he said.

As the Deseret News previously reported, Tebow was involved in a similar incident in June when he led a prayer for a man on a Delta flight who had a medical crisis.

He met with the family as they cried on his shoulder. I watched Tim pray with the entire section of the plane for this man, flight passenger Richard Gotti wrote on Facebook at the time. He made a stand for God in a difficult situation.
