He does it because he cares

For years I owned either a cat or dog or both. But for the last few years, after the last one’s death, I have neither. I do more traveling now and decided that it was much easier to keep it this way.

I tell people that I have found a way to have God’s creatures, or what I call my pets, around without them being a problem when I leave town. For some time now, I have been putting a bird feeder out and I get to enjoy watching them and hearing them sing. Even if the bird feeder gets empty, these birds can and will find food to eat, because our heavenly Father has made it a part of nature to take care of them.

We see this truth in Matthew 6:26 where it states, "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them."

This all reminded me of our heavenly Father’s care for those who trust in him. He has told us in verse 25 of that same chapter, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Are you not much more valuable than they (the birds of the air)?"

The idea here is that God does care and does provide for all of his creation but especially we humans, who have a soul and can choose to follow after him and his commandments.

So whatever your need is, no matter what your problem is, God can meet it – not just because he can but because he cares about us.
