There are those who want to blame God for all the problems in the world. This attitude usually shows someone who knows little or nothing about our God.

When God created man and woman on day six of the creation week, he provided all they needed. They had a place to live, food to eat, air to breathe, beauty to observe and companionship. God also gave them the ability to choose what they were going to do. When Satan tempted Eve, she was overcome by her own lust.

James explains lust this way: “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God, for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin; and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death” (James 1:13-15). Sin occurs because man gives into Satan’s temptations.

Trying to blame God for evil is not new, for Adam himself did that. Look at his response when questioned by God as to why the sin had occurred: “And the man said, ‘The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.’” (Genesis 3:12). When man sins today, it seems he is always looking for someone to blame. Children blame one another when they get in trouble for something, husbands and wives blame each other when problems arise, countries blame each other for difficulties and on and on it goes.

God sent his son to save mankind, yet some want to blame Christ for sin. This again shows a lack of Bible knowledge.

Notice Peter’s words about Christ: “Because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps; who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth; who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously; who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed” (1 Peter 1:21-24).

God and Christ are not to blame for all the sin in the world. Christ lived a sinless life on Earth, even overcoming direct temptations from Satan (Matthew 4:1-10).

The Hebrew writer wrote, “For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15). God has made man a free moral agent to choose between right and wrong. He has given us his word so that we can know what is right and what is wrong, but many fail to heed the warnings. We need to have the attitude of Paul and be followers of Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1).

Some try and blame God for all religious division in the world. Man is the cause of this, not God. God sent his son to reconcile both Jew and gentile into one body. “And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby” (Ephesians 2:16).

Christ offered a prayer for unity just prior to being arrested and crucified (John 17:20-21). The desire of Christ is that all become part of his body the church, which he paid for with his very life (Acts 20:28).

Is God to blame for the troubles and problems the world? No! He is not to blame; God has the answer to all the problems and troubles in the world. Instead of looking for somewhere to place blame, look to God and his word to find the answers.
